July 2018 What’s on in Tasmania?

Huon Valley Midwinter Festival – 13th – 15th July 2018 – If you haven’t sung to an apple tree whilst banging pots and pans by firelight lately, head to the Huon Valley to celebrate the regions apple picking history and join in the ages-old tradition of wassailing – basically scaring nasties out of the orchard’s cider trees to ensure a bumper autumn crop.

And if singing to the trees doesn’t bob your Geeveston fanny, join in for a weekend night of feasting, craft ciders and music by the fireside to kick.

Devonport Jazz Festival – 26th – 29th July 2018 – Street Eats Fiesta, Django Tiger, Gospel Song – all to titilate the music in you! The Devonport Jazz Festival is an award winning annual musical festival held in Devonport, North West Coast.

AFL in Tassie – 14th & 29th July 2018– There is nothing as exciting as a live game of football played at the top level, with superb athletes battling it out for the ultimate prize of the right to play in the AFL Grand Final.

MONA – throughout July – The museum is open Wednesday–Monday, 10am–5pm.

Festival of Voices – 29th June to 15th July 2018 – Bringing together international, national and local artists and workshop leaders, choirs and audiences in a celebration of song across all genres. Opening on the stunning East Coast, and closing with a spectacular Finale Concert in Hobart, and in between massed choirs, cabaret and contemporary performances, family and pop up events.

Whether you want to learn, perform or just listen, there’s something for you.
