Tamar Valley Writers Festival – Friday 14th – Sunday 16th September – Recognised as one of Tasmania’s premier arts festivals, the biennial three-day event celebrates, explores and critiques writing of all genres. Be intrigued and inspired, captivated and challenged alongside some of the nation’s best writers, thinkers and speakers as we take the mystery out of writing.

The Boy From Oz – 24th August to 8th September – The Burnie Musical Society is very excited to be presenting ‘The Boy from Oz’ as our 2018 show. “The Boy From Oz” tells about the life of the great Australian entertainer, Peter Allen. Excellent show – one not to be missed!

Theatre Royal Productions – an historic performing arts venue in central Hobart, Tasmania. It is the oldest continually operating theatre in Australia and features a diverse range of productions throughout the month of September

Great Eastern Wine Weekend – Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th September – Freycinet Lodge on the Freycinet Peninsula is the location for this weekend of find fare, long brunches, private vineyard tours, vertical tastings, free yoga and market and a cooking class honouring springs arrival in the tradition of pagan Ostara Festival.

Triabunna Village Market – Sunday 16th September – held on the Third Sunday in each month from 10.00am to 1.00pm. As well as a range of stalls (available for a small fee) including second hand books, bric a brac and seasonal produce, refreshments (BBQ snags & ‘Bunna burgers and cold drinks or coffee & tea) are available.

Ebb &Flo – 1st to 22nd September – an exhibition of Tasmanian art quilt in St. Marys
